Default Well. . .I called Steve at HondaMotorsOnline today!

And he was just as cool a guy as everyone says! I have an appointment to go pick up my ZC next Tuesday. Hopefully I'll be driving it by Wednesday night! hehehe

Anyways. . .Steve said that he was gonna give me a couple optiosn once I get there. He said in addition to the "normal" ZC motors, he also has what he called "Asian spec" ZC motors with the D16A8 number on them. Anyone heard or these? Are they that different from the "normal" ZC's? Should I opt for one motor over the other?

Thanks guys!

Yeah you are right. I did a bunch of research today, and found that the D16A8 is the European version of the ZC. It is basically the same motor, just a different number on the block. I think I might go with this one just to be different. Steve told me that the valve cover on this one looks a bit different than the JDM ZC.

Could it be one of the Rover ones? They're also called D16A8s I think.

Thanks for the heads-up guys! I'll make sure it's the one with the black cover.

Only one week left!!

I'm going to ditch my A/C while I have the engine bay clear too. I'll be doing this at my brother's work, so we'll have access to the equipment to bleed the A/C system that way I don't kill the trees. My A/C doesn't work anyways, and that should lighten up the car by about 40-50 pounds right?

Mine didn't seem to be quite that heavy. I could be wrong though. Take the air box out behind the glove compartment for full weight savings.

yeah make sure its the one with the black cover, by the way is there any way that it can come with an LSD tranny. If so i would go for that!!
Unless I'm totally mistaken, no D series trannies ever came with LSD. You may be able to get a Kaaz or Quaife to put in it, but you won't find a factory LSD ZC.

I have heard bad things about that place. You might want to read this, I have no experience with them.

ive had many experiances with steve at hondamotorsonline, great guy, great prices, fair and honest. Ive never bought anything that didnt fucntion properly, and if it didnt fucntion properly, im sure he would fix it at no cost. You will be very happy with your ZC motor, he's show'd me his ZC motors, they are in AWESOME condition. I have been to pretty much every so cali distributor of jdm motors, and steve @ hondamotorsonline is the best. Ive been to gomotors.com jdmhondaparts.com nippon-motors.com jdmclub.com and hondamotorsonline.com i find myself always going back to hondamotorsonline

Hey Noahk.. .thanks for the heads-up dude! Are you the one that emailed me the other day?

As far as the very FEW bad stories about Steve. . .All of the bad stories that I have heard have been related to shipping hassles. Fortunately I only live an hour or so from the HondaMotorsOnline shop, and I will be going there and meeting face to face with Steve. I will be looking at the motor personally and taking it home myself. So this should eleiminate any problems that I might encounter.

But thanks again for watchin my back!!

Oh yeah. . .only 4 more days 'till I pick it up!! YAY!!

I bought my b16a from steve. He would go out of his way to satisfy his customers. The price was good and the product was in excellent condition upon delivery. I would buy from steve anytime.
