as the titles says. im trying to remove the timing belt drive pully on a f23a1 and i cant get it off. i got the engine for free and i have no intentions of making it run because its shot but i want the crank, rods and pistons out. ive even broken some of the flange off cause i pulled so hard on it.
help me out please!!
theres gotta be a trick to it?!

So you have already removed the crank pulley bolt? The pulley should just slide right after removing the bolt. If not, try spraying it with PB Blaster and see if that helps loosen the rust or whatever is keeping the pulley stuck on the crank.
PB Blaster is your friend
Another trick is to get a small chisel under the key and pry it up a little then get vise grips on it, try to get it out. If you get the key out you can twist the pulley a little.
I've also driven them in a little with a big socket to get them to loose their hold on the crank, then wiggle them off .001" at a time.
Another thing that happens with that situation [pet peeve] is people see the key sticking out a little at the end of the crank and then pound the key in, and that wedges the key against the T-belt pulley, because the end of the keyway slot is slanted.
The flippin key is SUPPOSED to stick out a little bit ! !

ive already got the key out and the pulley will slide back and forth but will get stuck when u get about .5 mm from the edge and wont move for ****.... a pry bar, hammer, or very slowly moving it with my hand a lil at a time wont do it either.
ill try some pb blaster though
