BF G. Drag Radials/Nitto 555's/Falken Azenis
I haven't used any of these... but i am looking for a tire that will benefit drag racing. I will be using them on the stock rims for now, and i don't want to run full slicks on the street
Recommendations?
I have plans for running 17 inch SSR competitions in the future as a street wheel, which of the listed tires will wrap around the SSR's, and which would be best on those wheels?
Thanks,
Jon

I would recommend the Falken Azenis. For the price they can't be beat. However, I am pretty sure they do not make them to fit on 17s... Bad choice of rim size for drag tires...

More input anyone?

The Azenis is a medium compound, stiff sidewall circuit tire that can be used as a drag tire but should be left on the circuit course. Shitto 555's last long but do not give the traction of the BFG's. BFG's give monster traction but last as long as a shitty pamper on a baby with runs. 17" wheels are going to kill your performance because of rotational mass.

P.S. Azenis are not a drag tire...
Jon
There is not a another STREET tire that wil compare to the BFG on a drag strip. The Azenis can be used as a drag tire but that woudl be a waste of money since the sidewalls are so stiff. BFG's are purposely built for drag racing while the Azenis is really meant for circuit and gymkhana.
Get a set of slicks. Problem solved.
Once you go slicks you never go back.
This way when you go to the drag strip you're not wasting your street tires also.

BFG's are definately the way to go. Not sure about FWD but on our RWD Supra we have netted 1.49 60' times. They're super sticky and the less tread the better they seem to hook. Your never going to get bias ply traction out of a steel belted radial, but you can get close and still be able to "drive on the street".

you can not even compare slicks with street tires . once you have try them "you will never go back "....
I guess I will run the BFG Drag Radials then...
Anybody know about whether they make the BFG drag radials for the stock wheels AND for 17 inch SSR Competitions?

"They are such an awsome tire in the corners that it felt like I stiffened up the sus."
Glad you like them because I don't. I hit some of the backroads where I live with the Azenis and I thought I was driving a 4000lb car because of the sway. ReO10's might suck in the rain but they sure as hell handle good in the turns.
As for the original question, BFG Drag radials out of the 3, F0cK 17 " wheels.

You can get them at the Tirerack but the BFG Drags don't like turns.

BTW, which BFG Drags are you guys referring to? the COMP T/A Drag Radial, or the g-Force T/A Drag Radial?? My guess is the g-Force...?
I surely don't understand why you say they're no good in the turns. These tires ride better & are much quieter than the RE10's. As for the sway, pump up the air pressure!

When they first mounted my tires, they only put 35psi in them. Trust me, it was all over the road. I inflated them to 51psi as it says on the sidewall of the tire & I then felt every pebble & bump in the road. I now run them @ 44psi. It seems to do the best there. I might drop the front tires to 40psi the next time I go to the strip.
