another seafoam question
92 civic cx with stock motor
problems : bad throw out bearing, bad valve steam seals
Question: i have to make my head last atleast another 2 months before i can afford to do a mini me swap, and my car is having a serious throttle responce problem, i go through spark plugs every month or so (they get serious carbon buildup) only mod to my engine is a intake, so i was going to do some seafoam, but then go to thinking about my valve steam seals, would it effect them worse then they already are...
i cannot rev my car past 3.5k rpms or im just blowing smoke out my exhaust.. anyone have any inputs on this??
ps would be first time using seafoam (and i planned on doing it through vacuum line)

You can use the seafoam and it shouldnt hurt the valve stems if you do it through the vac line, however if you put some in the crankcase you'll want to change your sooner than usual because the seafoam will break down your oil.
Its called LIMP MODE. Its something the ECU does when its triggered with some particular CEL's. Do you have any CELS? while in Limp mode, the ECU lowers the rev limiter to around 4k RPM, retards ignition a TON ( hence the going thru plugs, blowing tons of smoke, etc,) and it just plain sucks. Its like some sort of " go limp home " mode cuz something is wrong. Since your car is OBDI you can do this to check CEL codes.
