Default h22a power loss.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of running an 06-07 S2000 with intake and test pipe and i was murdered to say the least. Now this is not my first run in with an s2k and the last one i run had a test pipe and a full j's single exhaust. I beat that one from a dig and from a 80mph 3rd gear pull. For some reason last nite just wasn't my night. Now, i have noticed that it hasn't been pulling as hard as it used too, it's got oil... water temp is good and vtec hits when its supposed to but it just doesn't feel very good. I've got a 93 jdm h22a with cold air intake, meagan header ( yeah i know uke: ) with test pipe and full
2 1/2" exhaust with a subaru wrx muffler (to keep it quiet and sleeper). also a fuel pressure regulator set at 48psi. Now mind you, this car is a 96 and this obd1 motor was put in as obd2 (don't ask, i didn't have time or money to convert the car to obd1) so i don't know if thats it. Also my header is cracked on 2 primaries at the flange lol... and a big dent on the down pipe... would that really be enough to cause such a big loss in power???? opinions anyone???

i DO NOT have any check engine lights on.

help!
thanks.

i tried the search but didn't find anything... maybe i'm not looking right. if you can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

your header being cracked is allowing exhaust gases to escape, and throwing off the reading of the O2 sensor, and so, your fuel mixture. Fix your header, and you should be good to go.

You would be surpirsed at the simplicity of most peoples car problems, and how each one affects every componet in a motor

would this be something intermittant... the other night (2 nights ago) i ran an 03 maxima 6sp in 3rd gear and i pretty much walked him the same way that s2k walked me... mind you the header is in the same condition. I'm stuck.

i checked everything i could. plugs, wires , connections and so forth.

A crack in your header (even a small one) will throw the air/fuel readings WAY off and mess up your power, my money is on that.

this is rediculous.... WHY are you comparing your power loss with street racing? Sick of hearing this kind of street talk. if you think its got power loss. Go to the drag strip!! put it on the line!! timers dont lie and street racing is nothing but dangerous And by no means street racing is not a accurate way to tell.
If you have a basic I/H/E h22 prelude. it should run 14.0-9 if u run 15.0+ then yes it might just be time for a fresh h22 or a rebuild.

point well taken. I agree with you but the drag strip is a good ways from my home and as much as i don't like to street race... it happens... i will take it to the track and see what happens. any advise on launching the car. it will be my first time???
