Project Car Tuner Magazine issue #5 Cd5 budget build
Has anyone else checked out the latest issue of Project car magazine....the brain child of Super Street magazine. They are currently doing a budget build on a cd5 coupe 5spd with 250,000 miles. I was wondering if, anyone else agrees with the numbers they are posting from some of there up-grades. Especially with the Nitrous express kit...the power there suggesting seem a little on the low end with all the mods they installed, but then again with 250,000 miles that could be right on point. They also mentioned that there iridium spark plugs are "one heat range colder" than the stock units. What does this mean????? And what may this hint at as far as there future engine modifications???
When you use nitrous you need a one-step colder spark plug. That's what they mean. I don't understand how that car has a spread. I should be on a cover if that thing is in there, but oh well, I guess it's all in who you know. I believe the numbers that car's putting down.
Yes, I have had the latest issue for at least a week now if not longer. Everyone should check it out especially, if you are in the early stages of building your car. Some of the mods they are doing can give you a good base on how much power you are making with each modification. Now if we could all get there hook-up prices with there vendors...
that car is almost the same as mine i don't understand why they did put a fuel pressure reg. on the car b/c n/x recomends between 41 and 51 psi of fuel pressure for the 50 shot. i have a few more suspension mods but that thing looks identical to my car

I guess your right, but i mean to have a full spread in a magazine is just sweet and for a car like that it's just like ehh. but your right it does say project car , i just dont understand how it says project complete, the guy lists spark plugs as a mod, i mean cmon.

Its run by installments....kinda confusing they say complete....I agree.
Check this man....they have a saturn SC2 in the same issue....their main focus is keeping the builds to a managable budget that your regular college student could adhere too....
But on a serious note if you read in the Readers letter's they comment that their is almost never a Accord of any year featured in any mag....and that not everyone cant afford a h22 swap and was requesting some sohc love....and they answered it with a solid budget build....I applaude that!
Also another good thing to point out is they really focused on saftey for this installment...nothing more important imo is safety....brakes, suspension. wheels/tires is the starting point for me on any build.

I am just started my build on the same car about 6 weeks ago. My baseline dyno numbers were very close 117.7 HP/ 126 FT-LBs. The magazine write-up was good.

i just put mine on the 75 shot yesterday but haven't got the chance to et any numbers. Their really isn't any dynos close to my location and the one that is here is priced really high
so far it has an aem short ram intake a cheap header a hks cat back balance shaft belt removed e.g.r. block off kit and lots of suspension mods has aem adjustable fuel regular aem fuel rail. getting ready to install a walbro 255 hear shortly it is prob. over kill but i got a really good deal on it.it also has the same N/X kit that they put on this car in the magazine
like i said it is prob. overkillbut i had afriend that had a boosted accord that he blew up and the turbo kit he had peiced together was junk but he needed money one night so i got this stuff on a helluva deal so i couldn't pass it up i think i paid 100.00 for the rail and the pump
