Bizzarre heater blower problem
'93 Accord SE - auto
My son's car: I get in to warm it up yesterday but when I turned the heater fan on there was nothing. It stayed that way until I went to go down our driveway; once I was moving forward the fan came on. However, as the car increased speed, the fan decreased until the fan stopped completely. This happened the entire drive: once I accellerated from a stop the fan would come on right away on high speed, but slowly decrease to nothing.
I put the car in neutral and tried revving the engine, but that didn't make the fan go. It only does it when the car is accellerating. When the fan comes on, it comes on full-tilt (with setting on "high" the entire time).
I found the thread that included recommending the "cave man test", so I turned the key to the ON position and kicked the blower motor. Fan started turning some, but very slowly, even kinda clunky. At this point I'm assuming it is the blower motor...but I hate to assume, and to me it is just too weird that it sometimes comes on full go with no hessitation/noise/clunkiness...but only when accellerating from a stop?!?
Any suggestions would be great.

Maybe the combination of air being forced into the ducts from the forward motion of the car, plus the inertia of acceleration shifting the fan's guts enough to allow it to spin easier? Overall, sounds like the motor is toast.
