AWD. Is it possible?
With all the swaps in the honda/acura world, i jus wanna know; is it
possible to AWD an Integra. I've herd sum bs about swapping
Crv's drivetrain into an integra.
Is it possible and if so how and how much?

there is a guy in the civic forum like 2 months ago that was building an awd eg. i'd do some searching and find out how he did it. if i'm not mistaken its a build thread and he explains alot of stuff.
Possible but not really plausable.
Ask yourself a couple questions?
Do I really have a firm grasp on the concept of awd?
Are you going to be able to calculate the geometry of the new rear suspention? (The suspention of a car is a very precise science by keeping the car balanced and planted to the ground. Manipulating this balance can be very dangerous)
Do I trust my welding skills? (Cause if a weld lets loose on the interstate or the strip your in big trouble not to mention if someones injured in an accident that you cause their lawers will have a hayday)
Do I have the money? (this project it gunna cost a lot of money)
Do I have the time?
A lot of these projects end up as an expensive pile of parts in the back of a garage. BUT its your money, time, and car. If this is really what you want to do go for, and make sure you let us know how it turns out. Hope this helped

yeah I remember a guy who did a wagovan awd drivetrain in his ef hatch and boosted the d series and that thing was sick. there were videos of them launching it over and over and man did it just GOOOOOO!!!. yeah it certainly is possible but it is a ton of fab work, and money. you will end up with a 25k integra when you are done!!

will end up with a 25k integra but wont be worth as much when trying to sell it

I wouldn't do it. If you want AWD there are better ways of getting it.
This is the way I see it. For the amount of money you'd spend putting an AWD system in an Integra, you could easily buy a 1g AWD DSM. Then with the money you'd get from selling the integra you could make the DSM reliable.
The result of that scenario is you still have an AWD car, only now it's turbo and has a significant amount of power to boot.

damn guys. some of you need some schooling on spelling. its suspension. also, if you do the work yourself, it might not cost as much as you guys think. and whats the point of upgrading anything if your going to be some cheap *** that doesn't want to spend the money? enter that thing in some different race classes, and make your money back. you guys are too damn skeptical.
With how uncommon those cars probably are I still can't see it being cheaper. If I can see evidence of it being cheaper, then maybe I'd say go that way. Until then I say it's
on importing a car to be cheaper than using what you have.

According to T-I, they came w/ SOHC 1.6l ZC's.

If you want an AWD car, buy a Subie or Evo....although it IS possible to build this setup, it's not a feasable, practical thing to do unless you have a lot of free time, experience and expendible cash
The AWD Integra ZXi - 1.6 ZC SOHC was fist produced in 94 with limited models being produced in 95 and 96. Due to major faults with the drive train and limited r&d funds the production was suspended indefinitly half way through 95. From what i hear they had the same problems as the 5 speed wrx, whimpy gears that liked to strip after a little abuse.
Also by using a crv drive train you will mearly have a front wheel drive integra with rear wheel assist (realtime awd). And if I assume that your like anyone who would go through all the pain to put in an awd system in an integra your going to want to use it. The crv awd system like I said is simply an assistance for wen your fronts start slipping therefore they are not designed to take much abuse. A buddy of mine works for honda and he said they see a lot of crv's with a busted up rear drivetrain cause the guy thought he had true awd.
Ask aroud a lot before you do this. Find someone who succsesfully did this and make sure you dont get over your head. I dont mean to detier you, I just dont want you to waste your money getting in over your head.
