My friend ahs a JDM CRX SiR and wants me to get him one of those cheapo intake pipes of ebay (he has his own good filter), as they charge a fortune for them over here, what i need to know is, will the ones sold on ebay fit in his car, his battery is in the front left corner and so the pipe would need to be bent in order to avoid it, some of the ones on ebay look like they will do, but i need to be sure before i order it for him (he has no credit card) Do USDM crxs have the battery fitted in the same place. BTW his engine is the B16a
The SiR and the USDM Si have the battery in the same location. Although the intake piping may be about 1-2" too long. I have a SiR airbox and piping on my US Si with the stock D-series engine. The piping is about 2" too short so I had to extend it to keep it from rubbing the battery.

he only wants a short ram intake, but will buy the CAI if need be

You can't really tell what will fit and what won't from pictures. Just get one for a 88-91 Civic/CRX and just cut off an inch or two if it's two long.
