Strange h22 idle issue and tps related question.
Its been a long time since I have asked any questions on here, but hopefully someone will give me an idea on what I might be overlooking.
A little history: I have an h22 which I bought from Hmotors about a year and half ago, I got it to put in a hatch but then I sold that car. 3 days ago, I decided to drop the h22 into a prelude shell that I have to make sure the engine had no issues before I decided to sell it. Compression is 220 across the board. I have done many swaps but I have hit a problem I dont know what could be causing it.
The problem i seem to be having is the car idles at about 3 grand (bounces to about 5 but that could be the IACV, nothing big) Also the the engine seems to fire all 4 cylinders in a row, then pauses for a second then does it again, over and over. I dont know how many of you know the sound of a v8 with monster cams and how they sound, but its about the same except only with 4 cylinders. Has anyone every had this problem? (was going to post a video clip but it just sounded like **** with my cell phone)
I have checked and re-checked to make sure the t-belt, but everything is dead on. The wiring has not changed because I used the h23 engine harness and distributor. I checked all connections 3 or 4 times just to make sure nothing is loose or in the wrong place and made sure all the grounds are connected.
The only thing I have found so far is that the TPS read .21v closed and 4.5 WOT. I adjusted it to .47v closed but at WOT is at 5.4v. (I believe it should be 4.5v per helms) So I assume the TPS must be bad, could this cause my strange idle?
Also, is there any identifying marks on the cams themselves so I can verify that someone didnt change them out at some point. This might no be very likely but I just figure if it did have larger lobed cams, the stock ecu wouldnt be able to compensate for them.
If anyone has any other ideas I can check for, post them up. I feel like a born-again noob.

yep check firing order, the only codes that show up are 41 (O2 sensor - not hooked up), and 21 & 22 since I dont have vtec wired up. No other codes at all. That is why I am confused, I just have never ran into this strange issue before. As I said the tps has a to high of voltage at WOT, I have ordered a replacement but I havent recieved it yet.
Glad to hear, Keith! How did you narrow it down to the KS?
You aren't selling this car now, are you? Man, I can't keep up with you and your cars!!

Hey Andy, whats up? I actually will be selling this car in about 6 months. lol My girlfriend thinks im insane with the number of cars I go through.
Anyways, back to how I identified the problem....I found this by pure accident. I was doing an oil change. I reached up and touched the knock sensors plug and it wiggled. The knock sensor had some how backed its way out almost all the way so it would actually shake while the car ran. All I did was re-tighten it and the car ran fine.
