So I am the new owner of a '93 Civic DX 1.5L. It was running when I got but it got to the point that it doesn't start now.

I had already planned on replacing the fuel pump and when I went to do that today I noticed the pump wasn't getting any power to turn on. Someone had told me that the MAP sensor isn't turning on the pump?

My question: Is what I have been told correct or do I need to look in other places to solve this. A new map sensor is like $250.

Map has nothing to do with it try your main relay.

 

Main relay (Y)

 

Cause it controls your fuel pump thats Y

 

Where would that relay be located?

 

Dont forget to check fuses.

 

Its under the steering wheel behind the fuse box it says main relay and should be held up by one bolt. Try swaping it with a friend first to see if that fixes the problem.

Hey Sr420Det.. Thanks for the advice! I swapped out the fuel pump and that relay and the car started right up.

I do have one more question though...its idling too low and I was wondering how to idle it up?
