88' dx auto to manual! swapped cluster problems???
ok guys i know that this is a pretty common thing but cant find any good info on this, the FAQs cluster swap wont pull up a web page, and i did a few searches and came up empty handed!
ok here is the scoop, i did an auto to man on my buddy's 88 dx 4dr, and i had an 89 si cluster laying around, i swapped it in and the tach didn't work and the oil psi light stayed lit dimmly even when the car was turned off! it's obviously something to do with the pin-outs to the cluster, does anyone have the correct info to correct my problems and make the tach work??
any info is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Some info there. I think those were the right years your were looking at. I'm trying to find easier pictures to use.

if teh car is an 88, then u need an 88 cluster, some will say 88 and 89 is the same, but that doesnt always hold true. i have a 89 cluster sitting here that doesnt work in my buddy 88, the engine harness even look different. i think it is depending on where the car was made, but this 89 i stuff i have here isnt the same as the 88, some 88's have only 1 set of plugs in the engine bay for the harness (meaning no plugs for the engine harness on the driver side next to the resistor box). u can rewire the 90-91 to work in the 88, there is a diagram to do so floating around on this site... i have this link here, hopefully i dont get in trouble for linking off site http://crxcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?p=65118
