Default 97 civic y7 to y8 mini swap questions

this is a civic ex i found that has a d16y7 engine in it.

the y7 have 106hp and the y8 have 127hp, by putting a y8 head on it will that boost the hp to 127 or will it still be at 106?

are there advantages for doing a mini me y8 swap or should i just keep looking for a civic ex with a d16y8 instead of getting this one for $3000 (hes willing to lower the price too)

whats your hp goal ?
if u plan to do b series or k series swap in the future. then what u have under the hood does not matter.but if u plan to stay with d series and plan to boost it in the future. mini me swap is a good way to go and it is cheaper to get a D series vtec head.

Y7/Y8 mini-me swaps are a breeze.

You will actually have a SPEC more power than the stock Y8's 127 because the Y7 is slightly higher compression IIRC, but the longer geared DX/CX transmission will hurt your acceleration quite alot compared to a stock Y8

hey i was wondering if you could help me with a mini me swap quesiton. I have a blown y8 motor and I found it easier to get a y7 motor. I was just wondering what exactly are all the things i would need to do the swap. Also would i need to resurface the head for the swap?. THankx in advance
