MTX Jackhammer sub buy one get one? any good
hey guys circuitcity is having a sale on the mtx jack hammer 99.99 for 12 89.99 for 10 but if you buy one you get one.
My 12" is blew and i was thinking this is great i get 2 for the price of 1 and i only use one so if one of them blows i got a back up but what do people think of this. The only time i heard about it was on PMR.

I never liked the buy one get one free from Best Buy or Circute city. They always blew for some reason, mabey thats why they were giving them away.
i have 2 kenwood 10" in a dual enclosure so i could just buy a 10" enclosure and just use those. Im still undecided if i should get these or just an enclosure
how bout the circuit city protection plan 29.99 for 2 years 39.99 for 4??? should i get one what do they cover?

The Warrenties are good for as long as you have the reciept. I remember I went through about 3-4 pairs of Subs from CC for about 2 years before I finally said, Im done playing with that cheap crap. But CC honored their return policy every time I returned with busted subs. Best Buy too.
really if i blew it from playing them so loud they would give me another?
but my main question is not about the warranty i was just wondering if i should get them since they are 2 for 99.99 is there a reason why they are that price b1g1

can you twell me the last time you used a set of these subwoofers? Becasue they are not crap. The reason they are so cheap is there buying power and the becuase they are going to get you into the store and your going have odds against you that you buy something else

Are these plastic woofers?
Might make good boat subs. I've got a set of 12" kickers performing this duty right now and a set of Phoenix gold Rsd 12s as backups. As cheap as these are it might be worth buying and using the Rsds for something else. I paid $30 each new for the Rsd's though lol.

alright well i still have till saturday to decide if im going to purchase these i just got paid today aswell so that may be a sign that i need to get them. Plus having a spare around is nice incase this one blows too
I havent used those MTX in a long time. Dont really care too. Im sure MTX puts out decient equipment, but not on a circute city/best buy level.
Me personally, rather pay, after my experience with the buy ones get ones with quailty over quanity.
My last set of Subs I owned was Rock Ford Fosgate P3 powered by JL1000.(blows anything you can pull out of a circute city away)
Its just my opnion on buy ones get ones. However that may not be that way anymore.

Dude many mtx retailers carry the jackhammer sub. Its not a cheap sub period. It a entry level sub. And when i was a manager at cc the reason entry level subs blew were the fact that the new owners got used to there set up and wanted more bass. And were turning up the amp to get more bass. After getting them into a better set up then what they had there mind on. They never came back.
And there is a reason that the price is that way.
1. is to get you into the store.
2. The odds are that your going to buy a amp, amp kit, enclosure, rca, headunit, cds
3. Other items in the store.
4. labor to install it.
Trust me. There getting there money back. And the cost of the sub really. And cc has some nice subs that are better then the p3. Look at the l7 that they have and the l5 and the mtx 7500 and 8500 and 9500 that they can order. The only really good fosgate speaker is the Power series. the puch kind of fell off IMO. After they stop making the Older he-2's they really felll off. And i have experaince with them. Here is one of my older demo car.

After that series died they turned all there attention to the power and left the p2 to be just a normal speaker. But thats my imo.

Its all good, I understand, i just want you to understand that just because its buy one get one free. Does not make something cheap. Look at it by brand to determine that. If it was the brand "Dual" I could not agree more.

i am probably going out to get 2 now. Its good because i have everything already just need to replace the old sub with a new sub so i will just be purchasing the subs alone
