Camber Kits...
I am kinda familiar with suspension but I need an honest opinion on something. I have a 98 Civic EX sedan and I want to drop it. Nothing drastic, maybe an inch but not much more. I want to keep that stock look but get her a little lower and firmer. If I bought some aftermarket springs to do this, would this subtle drop require a camber kit? My friend says that Hondas are very sensitive to suspension mods and any drop at all requires one. I just want a second opinion before I drop another two bills (almost doubling what I'll spend on the springs) on a very light modification.
...I personally feel one inch is a threshold measurment; you may not need to consider camber correction for the front, but I would seriously take a look at the back - and not just static camber. Your car has a fairly aggressive rear camber curve.
Well I can't remember what springs I was looking at off the top of my head. My friend was showing them to me and their drop was 1.2 inches on all four corners. I was like 'PERFECT!' mostly because they were the right drop rate, would work with my stock shocks without wearing them out, and were a reasonable price. Then we were looking at camber kits (that he swore I needed, I'm still not so sure) and I got frustrated because that almost doubled how much I was going to spend. I might wait on this one I'm not sure...
I know but that only fixes so much though. I was just curious if I drop it about 1.2 inches would that be past the threshold of an alignment completely solving the tire wear problem?
