Default max time between clear coats?

I was repainting the roof of my prelude today and had to cut it short. I stopped after the 1st clear coat and am planning on finishing it up tomorrow SO my question is this: will i need to do anything to the 1st clear coat before I finish spraying? Should I just lightly go over it with some 1500-2000 grit? Thanks

Honestly it depends on what product you were using and if you had it baking in a booth. It also depends on the climate you've had it in since you sprayed it. I'd contact the supply store you bought the stuff from personally but the rule of thumb around my area is 8-9 hours maximum respray time without scuffing. It may be a better idea to let that completely cure, then scuff and add more clear at a later time.

ok well by the time I get back to working on it, it will have been curing for ~20 hours. I did it outside, no baking, but it was in the sun. Probably mid 60's with relatively high humidity (I live in northern california on the coast, it's always 80-100% humidity, kinda unavoidable) When I went out tonight to check on it, it seemed to have gured pretty well but of course, just because it's able to be handled doesn't mean it's fully cured. I will experiment on it a bit more tomorrow since I have a spot I need to fix anyways

Since its going to have been that long then I would scuff it because the outside surface has cured enough that more coats aren't going to stick very well. Use some 1k to 1.5k grit sandpaper that should do the trick.
