difference between muffler and tip?
i have a 1998 v6 accord.....i put on dual tips....when i am driving i can hear the exhaust but its a low kind of deep tone but then it stops when i am going around 50 mph and my cold air intake kicks in.......does this mean that i dont have alot of power and it doesnt release the deep exhaust sound because there is not alot of power.................or what inputs please.
or is it because it is tips and not a muffler....if i switched it to a muffler...what kind of dual mufflers should i put in...i dont want to get a catback exhaust because i dont want the whole kit...willl mufflers make a difference

Tips are simple bolt on metal tubes that go on to your exhaust tip. Usually made to make it look nice with a chrome accent, or to produce very minimal deep sound.
A muffler like what youre talking about, AKA a coffee can exhaust, will simply replace your stock muffler. The muffler is the cannister right before your final outlet that contains the noise. It will also come with a bigger exhaust pipe.
I have an aftermarket muffler by Megan Racing. It produces a loud, deep tone at higher RPMs.
Do some research on it. You'll see the difference.

Got my Megan for about 99 + shipping. I got it for cheap though. Look at retailers online & you might get it for around 115. It has a nice deep tone to it.

see if you can just buy some magnaflow mufflers, and take them to a muffler shop and have them put on, thats probably the cheapest route and will give you some more sound, but nothing too obnoxious
