@@@ Security Upgrade @@@
I just got my tax return and i plan on gettin lojack on my 91 hatch. I currently have an alarm, ignition and fuel kill, detach and auto lock. my alarm is pretty basic (power door locks with bump sensor. i was wondering if you guys could give me a little bit of help with what kind of alarm i could upgrade to and what else i could do to give me a better piece of mind.
If you really want to have an effective alarm you should:
1. Get a good brand like DEI or VIPER (i think they are both the same company)
2. Hide it in a good place.
3. Solder the wires, use heatshrink and loom.
4. get an alarm that has a push button for carjack.
5. Backup Battery
6. Sensors for doors, trunk, hood, motion, windows?, etc
7. The more sensors you have, the most effective it is....
8. hookup the kill relay output to the ECU +, fuel pump and spark (you need 3 relays)
9. Run stock horns and if you could relocate them, it will be better.

what kind of backup batteeies are out there that i could purchase? would i need a breaker for the ecu kill switch. a friend o mine told me to get 2 horns and put one inside of the car.
Yep Directed Electronics owns just about every good alarm out there, The Viper and Clifford Line are your best bet's.
The viper 7900 is good and has vibrating keypad with display, however the 5900 has the color display but is less distance for keypad alerts! Both can be purchased with back-up battery addon.
