I've got a 97 EJ Sedan, and the rear fender lips are basically rotted right off from the Canadian winters and salt, and lack of undercoating. Instead of going through the same issues with new replacement lips, I'm thinking I'd like to try to create my own plastic/rubber flares to cover up where I'm going to grind off all of the rust.

My question is, has anyone else fabricated their own set of flares, and what did you use? Either from some cheap materials, or flares from another car that fit alright on the Civic? They don't have to look real nice, it's certainly no show car, but just something I can paint and that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. Thanks for any suggestions.
