Default GC thread body removal off Koni shock help!

Ive been search for a while now and have not found how to remove the read threaded cylinder from the Koni shock. I know it sits on the snap ring, but in theory shouldn't it just slide off with enough force??

I had an ek, now I have a dc2 and bought 2 new rear shocks, im switch the GC's onto the 2 new rears and can't get this threaded perch off to save my ***. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

I would try and hit the bottom of the sleeve with a hammer...

tried beat it with a rubber mallet, took a chunk out of the mallet. A hammer dents the **** out of it. These were order straight from gc preinstalled. I know someone has done this before, anything will help at this point.

I'd say that there is a bunch of gunk and grim in there making them hard to get off.

I'd try hitting it better with a mallet maybe even use a 2x4 so you can get a better hit.

You probably have rust between the sleeve and shock body, soak the assembly in penetrating oil. Spray between the shock body and the sleeve. Re-paint the Konis black, the yellow paint seems to chip off really easily.
