Default civic eg gsr swap gsr tranny?

was just wondering when u shift from first to second(redline), what's ur rpm. and from second to third(redline as well). i have a gsr tranny and was wondering how much of a difference it is compare to a b16 tranny. remember i'm asking those with eg hatch gsr swap with gsr tranny. thanks. selling my gsr tranny soon but want to knoe how good it is first, if good enough then i'll just keep my gsr instead of selling it to get a b16.

uh rpms are going to be the same regardless of what tranny you have. 8200 is 8200. or are you asking what MPH are you at when you shift?

Exactly, the tranny doesn't dictate what the fuel cut kicks in at.

FYI the B16A transmission has shorter gearing, going with that will have you shifting sooner than you would with the GSR transmission. Better acceleration with the B16A transmission at the cost of overall top speed.

He's not asking about fuel cut.

From redline in 1st, if you shift to 2nd, in a GSR, you'll be around 5500RPM.

B16A trans puts you at around 6k.

The B16A has much MUCH nicer gearing. I hated GSR gearing.

I guess the question wasn't worded correctly then but I see what you're saying.

Gsr trans sucks. Puts you way out of the power band in 2nd. 3rd gear is perfect, though.

Either way, B16 trans FTW.

I have a GSR tranny and I have a USDM Type R tranny with 4.7 findal drive. I much prefer the Type R tranny. The gears in the GSR tranny are way too tall IMO. Falls out of VTEC on 1-2 shift.

I have a gsr w/b16 tranny in a coupe and if you do alot of highway driving i wouldnt change to it. Unless you like being at 4k at 70 mph.
