Expanding stainless tubing
Since the rockwell hardness of stainless is much higher, can I still expand 0.065 with a regular tailpipe expander that you use w/ a ratchet? If not, what can I use to expand it? I just need to expand 2 3/4" OD to 2 7/8" OD, so only 1/8". Thanks

You can try it...but most of the time you'll just break the expander. Typically stainless has to be done on a hydraulic machine like at an exhaust shop
yeah, you can NOT do it with the usual autozone rental piece, but its fun to take 2 in a row back to them after you break em!! (heating the tube with the expander in doesnt make it work any better

haha. that must have been fun. I'll take it to Midas and see if they'll do it. I'm making a custom 70mm exhaust for my S2000 but I could only find a 3" inlet muffler so I just need to expand the piping at where it meets the muffler.
