Default Help! Need a quick answer. Cam Cap Oring

Putting the head back together i noticed there is a groove in the head between the number 3 cam cap and mating surface. It looks like an oring goes here, but there wasnt one there when i took everything apart.

Helms manual shows there one being in the groove, but many have said there wasnt one in their head either.

Simple quick yes or no is all im asking...If yes i have to take it back apart

It's not for the dowel pin is it? AFAIK there are not any o-rings on the cam caps....

No, not for the dowel pin. The oil orfice on the head under the cam cap has a circle groove that looks like an oring sits in.
