New piston rings along with seals and it still smokes!!!!! HELP PLEASE
My compression test for my B16 was 175 170 172 150. The head has all new seals and the piston rings are 6 months old and the entire motor was cleaned. I am burning a ridiculous amount of oil along with smoking and I cannot figure it out. I am only running one oxygen sensor at the moment so I know some of the smoke is due to the car running rich but where is all my oil going?
2 things come to mind for me:
1. Incompetent mechanic assembled engine and you have some broken rings on your hands.
2. Valve guides are worn out. New valve stem seals don't fix worn out guides...
