Default Reupholstered Recaro SRD's

Well i finally decided the direction to go with my seats i've had laying around and such. Im going to be running just an F1 spec type II driver in black with my newly recovered SRD in the passenger. The one reupholstered was in twice as bad of shape as the one that is still torn up. It was only the outer fabric that was worn/torn, all of the padding was and still is in great shape on both. If anyone is interested im selling the red one for $175 on Recaro sliders and driver EK/EG/DC bracket. Just a little F.Y.I.

My only complaint with the seat i had re-done was that i requested that the Recaro be embroidered exactly as the original. Well apparently the embroidery shop misunderstood the re upholstery shop. They wanted an additional $100 to replicate the Recaro exactly because they would have to scan it onto their computers and specifically set up a machine for it. So i decided that i will be keeping this seat and it was good enough for me the way it turned out. Don't try to start flaming saying its fake because its not, the lettering is just in different font.

This picture is of the driver seat in its current state.

And here is the one i just recently had reupholstered at Johnson Canvas in Courtland Illinois.

It looks okay and you should have just did it without any Recaro word in it!

LOL sorry that looks hilarious! I agree you should have just left the lettering off all together.

It looks like they did a great job! Did you have to disassemble the seat (take the skins off); or did you just brought it in like the one pictured on top and they did the rest? If you don't mind, I have a couple of more questions. What kind of material did you use (real suede, alcantara, micro suede 100% polyester...) how much was the material, labor? My Recaros have a different material type in the center than on the bolsters/rest of it. Did yours? Did you opt to have it all wrapped the same material, or were they not able to pull the centers out of the seats to wrap them in different material? My Recaros are in pretty bad shape and I wanted to reupholster them, but I always thought it would cost too much and never bothered with a quote. You response would be appreciated.

it looks like they used individual letter stickers and just tried putting it on with out making it even.I think it would have been better to leave the brand, now it just looks like a cheap Ebay knock off...sorry bro...dont be shocked by the comments from every one, this is Honda Tech, nothin but the truth comes out here.

This side of the forum seems a little funny/retarded. If he would have posted this exact seat with those "RECARO" letters in the original "Recaro" font, and never mentioned the fact that they were reupholstered, this thread would have been full of responses with this emoticon in them: " ". Instead it's full of negativity. Are people with negative responses saying that this seat would have been better of with ripped fabric? It is a recaro seat and those letters do spell recaro. The frame/lumbar support/padding are still good/sturdy. What is the big deal?
