Default How fast before I need to cage the car?

I keep hearing mixed things about cages and ET's. I may drop into the 11's this year and for one I want to be safe and for two dont feel like getting kicked off the track. So when do you need to cage the car to be legal. Last time i was out it was a mid 12 sec car on street tires on a 2.1 60 foot so this year I am running drag radials and I think I might drop into the 11's. So like the title says, How fast before I need to cage the car for 2008?

11.49 or 135mph or faster requires a roll bar..

150 mph requires a chute, and 9.99 or faster requires a NHRA certified cage and an NHRA license.. Correct me if I'm wrong here guys..

11.0-11.49= roll bar

10.0-10.99= roll cage

over 135mph= roll cage

Per NHRA

I can say that if you plan on going faster, just do the roll cage the first time. It sucks to put in a roll bar, then go to fast and have to tear the car apart again to add the extra points to convert it to a cage.

does bolt in or weld in matter? Would an Autopower bolt in pass?

No to the autopower. The NHRA rulebook does allow a rollcage to be bolted in, as in the whole cage must be welded together and then bolted to the floor using plates, but why?
