94 accord timing belt help
94 accord lx belt broke while i was on the highway what are my chances that my valves are bent. already bought timing belt, water pump, seals, etc. thanx
take out all your spark plugs and remove the valve cover. Then find a tight fitting hose to go into the spark plug holes.
Rotate the crank pulley 90 degrees from TDC, that puts the pistons 1/2 way in the cylinders.
Now you can rotate the cam to close the valves at each cylinder [cam lobes pointing downward 4 'O' clock and 7 'O'clock] and use the hose to blow into the cylinder. your lung pressure is enough to 'feel' if there is a valve bent/open, and also you will hear air in the intake/exhaust manifold.
I would do this before putting on a new T-belt
