Who sells Ohlins coilovers
I'm not sure who sells them. Every set I've ever seen has japanese writing all over them. Since I can't read japanese, I can't help you. But, my friend has been trying to get rid of his JDM DC2 Type R suspension which consists of Ohlins shocks and APEXi Sport Springs. He's got the rear control arms, too. Let me know if you're interested. I think you'd have to shim these to get them to fit perfectly, though. They fit great on his 94 EG Coupe.
P.S. They are not adjustable and you will want a camber kit because they will have you sitting LOW. Tire will be very close to fender in the front, and you'll have just enough space to put your hand between the tire and qtr panel in the back.

So then these Ohlins Big Bam Boo Shocks don't have Japanese tags on them? Hmm...interesting.
I know it's not plainly obvious but the stickers with orange headings have small Japanese symbols. If they weren't made in Japan then please inform us where...
hahahaha look in japan for ohlins. if you can't tell by the name and the spelling you obviously do not know what they are and are probably just wanting them because you saw them in a magazine or web forum. and don't know their history.
Did I say that you should look in Japan for Ohlins? NO I DID NOT
You're both morons. Maybe since you know so much about them you could help this guy out. All I said is that my friend has a set. They plainly have Japanese writing on them or did you not even bother to look?
If you're not trying to help then maybe you should talk sh*t elsewhere.

DC Type R Ohlins Coilovers...
You guys should be better than this. You're obviously seasoned vets in this forum. The guy just wanted to know where he could find some coilovers and all you could do is talk trash about the info I gave him.
Bad form. The both of you.

ok people lets get serious about searching, took me all of 10 seconds to google öhlins.
http://www.ohlins.com/
so roadrage212 if MSchu(who i have the utmost respect for) and i are morons, the OP is a total idiot (no offense, just saying for arguments sake) but if you're looking to buy something like coilovers you should do your homework, especially if you're looking into buying some öhlins. i hate people asking to be spoonfed info and not doing research especially when it comes to suspension. you can search honda-tech for hours and have a plethora of info on suspension. and if that doesn't help you there are search engines.
and by the way password also sells buddy club products does that mean they are from japan (no they are a taiwan based), password will sell what keeps them in business and is popular with the tuning crowd. just because its on their commerce site does not make it "JDM".
manufacturers will make products for a popular chassis to make money, thats what they do. you build a product that you hope will sell based on R&D (like what PIC does) and popularity of the vehicle. you don't expect them to make a coilover for a CRV and pray it sells, you build it for an integra, civic or prelude because thats where your money is gonna come from. and one day hope to become a worldwide player in the game of manufacturers and tuners. then branch out and put distributors and service facilities in your major markets ie. USA, europe, japan, australia and africa.
PIC, sorry to throw your name out there but atleast i did it in a respectable fashion. i commend you for how you run your company and hope you the best. i've done research on your setups and they seem to have a very good acceptance with the community. hey maybe one day you'll be as big as öhlins
i'm done ranting

Look, all I said was that every set of Ohlins I've ever seen, which consists of a total of three (probably from their branch in Japan, I don't doubt that for a second) has these Japanese caution stickers and the only thing that is readable by me is "Ohlins" followed by the description of that perticualr series of shock. If that is true, then they are JDM indeed. JDM stands for Japan Domestic Market, correct? And if they are from Ohlins Japanese specific markets then they would be Domestic in Japan, making them JDM. They were made for that specific market in that Country.
I never said Ohlins came out of Japan. I'm sorry you misunderstood that. Honestly, I hate password JDM. They only sell overpriced BS and the miscellaneous stuff I think I would actually want is never in stock. I went crazy on that website when I had my EF and they never had anything for me other than a five lug swap and a $3k obd0 B16 swap (motor, trans, ecu, harness, and used electrical components with no warranty). Oh yeah...the SiR front end that they never had the fenders to match...
I'm in total agreement with what you said, but he never said "I need to know where Ohlins is based out of because I need to write thier corporate offices a nasty letter," he wanted to know where to buy some. Who cares if he's a poser who only wants them is because he wants to be Fast and Furious? I don't. There's plenty of 'em out there and if they want to be posers, we might as well help them do it right. That's what these forums are for. It's a constant learning experience. Think of it as taking a kid who just thinks Hondas are cool and turning him into a full-fledged enthusiast who helps you make this thread a better place.
I just think you need to recognize that you're a senior member. As such, its important that you help the newbies out or ignore them altogether. Give the new guy a break. Hell, give me one, too. Hopefully we will be as big an influence on this site as you guys are one day.

goddamn, in all my ranting i didn't come up with the word "poser" :thumbup" roadrage212
lack of sleep is getting the better of me. i should just ignore the newbies but some days i can't because of other influences ie. work, family, bills, my garage that probably looks like passwordjdm's warehouse because i never have anytime to install my stuff, etc.

Its cool, man. I was popping open my first beer (I work nights) and your rant caught me a little off guard. Hey, at least now I know who to ask about suspensions setups!

I was just down at the Ohlins US division today they are located in Hendersonville NC. This place is tucked away and they do not ordinarily get walk-ins but these guys were very helpful. I told them that I could not find out any thing about these shocks the ones you guys are describing. What I found out is that they are PVC shocks with eibach springs and that they are made in Japan. I also found out that the spring rates are backwards. They should be soft up front and stiff in the rear but they are sold with 10kg in the front and 5 kg. Anyway they told me that the shocks did in fact come from Japan and they knew very little about them. These guys seem to mostly deal with motorcycles and strait up racecars. I asked if they had a literature on the shocks and springs and they said that they were trying to get it translated from Japanese but it was incoherent in English. Anyway they were as helpful as they could be and sold me the few parts I needed for my shocks. Ohlins has a very impressive setup.
Dont see any japanese writing on these, and they are for a EVO.

And for the OP, before I post a link how much are you wanting to spend? I doubt you know how much these go for since you dont know a site to get them at. Ohlins is not you run of the mill street tuner coilover set.

Also I am not sure they make for the EK. I know the site I have for them, they make for the DC5, AP, DC2, and the EVO. I dont know that much about the EK, but I would think you could swap your stuff out for the DC suspension pieces, but doing that and buying this brand of coilovers you are looking at around $5000 if you do it yourself.
i see your in u.k, mate is having custom set made by ohlins here in u.k on his mb6, ill try and get phone number for the ohlins office down south, best you speak to them with your requirements and take it from there
If you are in the UK, none of us US folk can really help you. Contact Ohlins directly, or search through their site for a list of distributors. These are high-end shocks you're looking at, so they won't be stocked at every speed shop on the corner or whatever.
As for this...

That's just plain incorrect. To make ITR shocks work on an EK you need:
-ITR shocks
-Function7 ITR-style EK rear LCAs
That's it, and it's not $5K even with brand spankin' new Ohlins shocks. Not "hating" on you, just clarifying an inaccuracy.

Depend on the model of ohlins you want. Just like how Moton goes from around 2.5k to upwards of 10k. Those right there for the evo are around 4k and then you have to buy the stuff for the dc2 coilovers to fit.
-No need for shocks since you have the coilovers
-Function7 lcas which are what $150-200
$4200, that is pretty to close to around 5k right. Then on top of that if you are buying a coilover of this calibur I am sure either you have the best of every suspension piece on the car already, or then the price goes up even more. No need for something this if you dont have all that done already, or have the money to do it in one fell swoop.
But then again, I did say that I dont know much about the ek.

Here is a for the lower end ohlins for the ek4. They are $1800.

I did find some upwards of 8k but not for the ek4.

That's just it, you have to look at what's available for the model he has. The $10K ones aren't Honda fitment, that's for sure.
And because we're getting nit-picky, when you're buying Ohlins anything, you're buying a shock, damper, or strut, not a "coilover."

For this kind of money, you may as well buy whatever shock you want, OF WHICH YOU AT LEAST KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT (e.g. valving) and have the proper attachments welded on for an extra $50 each or so. Or get the standard double eyelet shocks and ghetto rig them to fit (like me).
