Default RE: Check Engine Light on 93 Honda Civic

Hello Everyone,

I had a 1992 Honda Civic manual transmission that crashed but the engine was untouched. I was able to obtain a 1993 Honda Civic automatic shell that I used to transplant everything from my 1992 Honda Civic into. On testing the car at around 50-60mph the check engine light comes on. When I checked the code out it gives a code 43 & code 1. My 1992 Civic never gave me these codes. According to what I have been able to research these codes are for fuel and the oxygen sensor. Would anyone be able to help me trouble shoot this? Thanks, Victor

What trim levels are you dealing with, some have diff. wire o2 sensors. If there the same wire o2's just replace the o2, i've heard of people having code 43's and a new o2 fixed it.

I did a complete transfer over so there was nothing conflicting with the oxygen sensor for manual vs. automatic. I will put in a new oxygen sensor....hopefully that helps. Thanks.

Hello,

I changed the oxygen sensor but the Check Engine Light still comes on when I'm doing 50-60mph. It still gives a code 43 & code 01. When I drive 30-40mph around town the light doesn't turn on. Any Ideas? Thanks.

The 92 Honda Civic was a 3 Dr hatchback DX manual transmission. The 93 Honda Civic is a 4 Dr DX automatic transmission. I hope this is what you mean cause I'm a little confused as to what the trim level is. Thanks.
