AZ used to carry Cardone axles which are pretty good, however, like you mentioned they are starting to carry Duralast which is their own brand for everuthing now, axles, pumps, brakes etc, which are cheaper in price and quality

Yeah, I wouldn't use their pumps or suspension parts, but the wires and brake parts are decent.

Stay away from autozone. PERIOD! I don't think that I should have to defend my statement either. It's self-explanatory.

Also, stay away from Orielly's axles. Get CarQuest axles if at all possible.

I just re-read my post about four times and I didn't see anywhere within its perimeter of at least a word saying anything negative about the parts sold by Advance Auto.

Here's the order of succession:

Autozone < (Orielly's = Advance = pepboys = NAPA) < (Carquest < or = OEM dealer)

LOL

The zone is shady, I worked their for a couple of months. I'm letting out some trade secrets but I don't really care because if anyone that matters happens to be looking on here, they have no idea who I am. Auto Zone carries three main lines of parts-Valucraft, Duralast, and Duralast Gold. For parts such as alternators and starters, Valucraft is a used part which only the parts inside that were broken are replaced, Duralast is a used part thats completely rebuilt internally, and Duralast Gold is a brand new reproduction part. Yes, I know, no big secret yet. For brake parts, they all actually differ in quality, Valucraft being the lowest quality, and Duralast Gold being the highest quality. What most people dont actually realize is Valucraft and Duralast are actually one in the same. A lot of parts such as sensors, chassis parts, and suspension, are the same part all in a different box, just priced different and with a different warranty. For example, I could buy a part that says "Duralast Gold" on the box, or I could've bought the exact same part that says "Valucraft" on it for $30 or $40 less. Therefore, in my opinion, this makes Auto Zone a very crappy company. I'm not saying I won't buy from Auto Zone, but I do my research first.

How does that make AZ a bad company when it clearly states on the box that the Valucrafts are rebuilt and the Gold's are new. Also your paying extra for the lifetime warranty vs. a one year warranty. Why would someone who's not planning on keeping the car for long, or who is gonna the flip car pay $30-40 more for an alternator or starter when they don't plan on keeping the car?

dude you guys are stupid....axles and anything that are meant for STOCK FACTORY replacement are not meant to handle and be used in the matter that most of us drive any way...spend the money and get the right parts meant for abuse
