Default Urethane Lip Difference?

Hope i dont get flamed and told to use the search cause ive tried

My question is:

Is a urethane/polyurethane lip worth the extra money compared to a ABS lip??

Because the price difference is pretty significant.

And since its a different material, can it still be painted without any special preparation...

Both can be painted the same way. As a reference I believe stock bumpers are polyurethane. The difference between the two is the flexibility and durability. Polyurethane are almost indestructable (cracking wise). You can bump into anything and it won't crack. Some of my friends have gone through a bunch of ABS lips. I suggest you get polyurethane. It'll pay off when you drive into a parking block or hit a big dip and your lip is still intact. Hope this helps.

Urethane is the only way to go. I have scraped and nailed my front lip onto so many things, and it only has one mark on it (and no cracks).

OEM lips are urethane, so that shows you something about the quality. It's not like urethane is an upgrade over ABS...it's more like ABS is a downgrade from urethane, which is the standard.

i've been through one abs lip and am on my first polyurethane lip

another downside to the ABS lip other than how fragile it was, was that it took a lot of trimming and pulling to fit, as compared to the polyurethane one that i got which easily flexes and fit way better

bottom line... polyurethane > abs

Cool, Thanks guys i really appreciate the help

After some thought it doesnt make sense buying more and more plastic lips that are gonna keep breaking

Urethane is a wise investment...

and your driving habits, friend hit a rock and it broke his abs lip. I tapped a curb and mine broke in half.

I have a urethane front and rear lips now.
