which one is faster, freind says his teg will blow it(em1) off the line

 

It's true that the B18B1 will have the B16 off the line, but the B16 will be triumphant top end especially the gearing of the B16 tranny. Then again, it all depends on the driver.

 

The em1, duh. In stock form that is. I think the teg has what 140hp and the em1 has 160hp and not to mention the b16 tranny.

 

i would say civic em1 si is faster. it has more power than ls non vtec motor and closer short gears than ls tranny

 

the teg will be ahead of the civic until the end of the tegs 2nd gear. By then the civic will already be in 3rd and start to pull ahead and win.

yeah but b18b has soo much tq over b16

If both cars are stock and drivers are equal ^^^ this is how it will go down. Seen it many times as well as done it.

 

I agree with everyone. From someone who used to own both an LS w/ a B16 trans and a B16 that the LS might take it off the line but the B16 will pull it out up top.

 

just bought an em1 and the power hits hard in 2nd gear
