Default WHY can UPS, FEDEX, and the USPS not ship my Carbon Fiber Hood?

Ive been dealing with this kid in SoCal for like 4 weeks now, and ive even talked to the manager of the mail boxes etc there and he said there is no way to send the hood. its dimensions are a little too big.

What the hell is their problem. Its a hood...not a nuke.

Anyone have any ideas how i can get that hood out of socal, here to cincy?
How does FiberImages send their hoods?

Maybe i shouldnt post this in integra..but i think you guys are the most helpful. thanks alot.

First of all, carbon fiber hoods are a bish to ship. I have had two smashed in freight. Make SURE you get the bish insured for the value plus a couple hundred dollars for your time when you have to deal with it if it gets smashed. Trust me, I learned the hard way. As far as freight goes, a carbon fiber hood, or any hood for that matter is too big for UPS, USPS, or Fedex to ship. I'm not sure on Fedex Freight. Anyways, most all bodykits and hoods go via Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) Truckfreight.

A company that you can use on EBay that I recently stumbled across was FreightQuote.com. They have a very intuitive system online that allows you to price how much it would cost to ship something domestically.

For dimensions on the VIS RAcing Sports CF hoods that I shipped, use these numbers:

67"x7"x62", weight: 40 lb, dimensional weight: 150 lb.

Roadway Express will GOUGE you. We used Danzas (www.danzas.com) but their insurance department sucks. Check out FreightQuote.com, we were impressed.

Good luck.

oh Gawd, pack things like your life depends on it, I worked in the shipping department of a warehouse for 2yrs and all the jokes/rumors about packages being treated like crap are completely true. I even have friends that work for UPS that can confirm this, people deliberatly destroying boxes and not caring at all
