Which Diff bearings with LS/B16 Quaife into GSR case?
EDIT: Figured it out
I am having a friend build my tranny for me, as he was assembling it the case will not close all the way, he said there is a 1/4" gap, we are using GSR Enclosed Diff Bearings on an LS/B16 Quaife in a GSR Case that origionaly had tapered roller bearings, is the case the problem or is it something else? The gears are B16 123 GSR 45 is that helps.

I gave him 2 GSR and 1 B16 Gearset, I just read that you use an 80mm Diff Shim with the Enclosed Bearings and a 79.5mm with the Tapered, could the problem lie there? I read up on this pretty good and all the answers I got were to use the thicker GSR Diff Bearings, are the GSR's the correct bearings to use?

according to acura there is a difference in the bearing structure but the overall dimensions should be the same. Sounds to me like your 1/4 gap is more then likely from the rod that holds the shifter mechanism together. its sometimes a pain to align properly and will not allow the cases to fully close.

thx for the reply, have not messed with it but I think we know where the extra gap is already coming from, was a simple oversight. Thx.
