195/45/15 tires safe to use?
I remember a while ago there was a post regarding 195/50/15 tires and whether or not they are safe to use on an Integra. The consensus seemed to be that they are indeed safe to use. I was wondering if a set of 195/45/15 tires would still be safe? The car is a stock weight 94 GS-R that usually has anywhere from 50 to 120 pounds of stuff in the trunk and sometimes carries a third person weighing about 120 to 150 pounds. The tires have a load rating of 882 pounds each. While resting the car would be well within the load rating for these tires, even fully loaded with the gear and passengers, but what about when the car is turning? Any input to this would be greatly appreciated, TIA.
I could care less about looks, and only the spedomoter would be erred (correctable).
The tires are Yokohama AVS Intermediates, and they are only $46 a piece at tirerack right now. That is a damn good price, and I am tight on cash right now, and I have always heard the AVS's are a good tire. I would also imagine that a 45 series sidewall tire would have exemplary reflexes, which is something that I am really after. If anyone has any other suggestions for tires or just general suggestions, they are appreciated. However, I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if the tires are safe or not. One more thing of note is that I do a lot of driving on dirt roads. When I come accross a rock I go SLOWLY over it. Even though I drive very slowly over rocks, would they pose any problems to my wheels with such thin tires? Thanks again.

I Have Used Them Before And Regreted It On The Street. The Ride Was HORRIBLE But As For Track/Autocross........I Really Didn't Notice Any Gain Over The 195/50s That They Replaced (Also Yokohama AVS Intermediates).
This Was On A 1985 CRX Si
Good Luck!
I'd love to see some pics of these!

Thanks 91SiKen. Yes, that is the beloved 340R
. My dream car. If I could own one I would happily drive a pinto or any other similar car for a daily driver. Glad to run into another fan of the most lovely car to ever be produced. For a lot of good reading go to http://www.340r.net.
Thanks for the info soyracer. Is there any other tire that you might recommend that has especially quick turn in, which is the trait I would be seeking from these tires? This would be for a stock 6x15 Integra wheel. Any mor helpful advice or opinions are greatly appreciated.
