Penzoil Synchromesh mixed with Manual Honda Tranny Fluid??
so theres a million posts about what kind of fluid to put in your tranny, but has anyone mixed the two before? if not how long does sychromesh last and is it safe.? thanks in advance!!
I can't say for sure, haven't had experience with that product. I know everyone hates penzoil products though. Honda MTF is the best theing to put in your trans.
Not to hi jack your thread, but has anyone tried mixing a little Honda VTM fluid in with the MTF for an LSD trans. I assume it doesn't matter but I was debating this with a friend the other day. I say no....but VTM is for LSD diffs.

um, that would be like mixing coke and pepsi
pennzoil synchromesh is the equivalent of honda MTL
i think you mean mixing mtl with pennzoil synchromesh friction modified.
but then again, its your dumb *** thread not mine.

Well, a lot of people mix GM Synchromesh with Honda MTF with great results. The Pennzoil synchromesh isn't too bad, either. Big thing is people have to realize that trans fluid is like motor oil. It has to be changed at regular intervals. Not as frequently as oil but it is not meant to be left in the trans for 200,000 miles at a time.
So, to answer your question, mixing PSM and Honda MTF is fine.

i use royal purple synchromax with oem honda mtf (half/half mix) and it shifts smoother than before.
roytal purple synchromax states Synchromax is fully compatible with all types of friction materials.
