Default DEI Alarms...Past and present.

My daughter just bought a 1996 Accord LX. It came with a Directed Electronics Inc. (DEI) alarm system. Currently, not in service due to missing remotes. (I can replace the remotes.)

Has anyone had any experience with alarms from DEI? How good are they? (assuming it was installed correctly and isn't malfunctioning in some way.)

Thanks for any input.

Welcome to honda-tech. Check out my signature bro!

Also this would be a good read, it's stickied right at the top of this forum.

You're in Ogden huh? I just moved to Taylorsville.

Anyway, DEI is the industry standard as far as alarms go. They've bought out all the competition. Viper, Python, Clifford, Hornet, and a whole host of others are all owned by DEI.
