Need a recommendation for the peeling clear coat on my roof.....

Well i guess this is what i can expect from paint that has spent 17 some odd years under the California sun. What do you guys reccomend for taking off the rest of the clear so it looks a little better till i get the money to paint it (that isnt gonna happen for awhile)? Scotch-Brite pad maybe? or some sand paper? if so real fine sand paper or real coarse paper? I'm trying to avoid scratching the paint beneath too much.
Thanks for the help
There's no way to avoid having to re-paint the whole roof skin, if you want it to look perfect.
For the time being, get some grittier car polish and try to knock down the edges of the clearcoat. Then follow up with some nice polish and buff it smooth. That may bring back the luster it's obviously missing.
