I want to try to do it myself , just wonder is it very hard to do it (just put the car on jack-stand? I think the hardest part may be put the tranny back on the car, is it? Any tips/common wil be welcome
Thanks
Thanks
Pete and I did mine on 4 jack-stands, along with an impact wrench, a lot of sockets, pry-bars, two jacks, and engine lift, and a LOT of patience!

squaled like a pig for about 5 minutes and threw at least twenty codes......parents never woke

With 4 jackstands, you need to plan it for 2-days.
Not that it takes 2-days, but plan it so that you are not in a rush to finish the job. The biggest problem with 4 jackstands is your arm will kill you after 2 hours into the job. Tranny is a **** to push-up when you only have 2 ft of space to lift that s.o.b.
It's do-able... but be patient and take breaks.

damn, i've done it with 1 honda jack and a concrete block before..i wouldn't recommend it, but it can be done.
easiest way to get the tranny back on is get under the car, roll it onto your chest and push it up into place and have someone up top helping.

SGT --- I remember seeing you fixing your tranny/(clutch?) at the EXPO....doesn't look that fun w/o a lift.
Do you mind I ask: how long did you take to finish the whole thing (take the tranny out and put it back) that night ??

omg it's EASY with just two stands. 3 people with no airtools, with lots of beer breaks, smoke brakes and lazy breaks shoudl take no more than an hour to remove the tranny. It's really not hard.. and an ENGINE LIFT?!?! LOL wtf was that guy talking about?
x 1,000,000,000,000We-Todd-Did-Racing dropped one in 30 minutes with no problem.. just the FL side, the NC pussies were driving back to NC at that point

edit: For your first time, I'd allocate two hours to dropping it if you have the helms.

Theres no trans on the back of the car
and having 4 in the front of the car is too cluttered.

If I wasn't drinking beer that night (while you work outside Walmart), I shouldn't have to post this tread today
thanks SGT

ok, that'll take a little bit longer.. he meant prepare for it 2 days in advance I think.
In FL/NC, they use OE bottles as jackstands and a cherry picker is a fat guy w/ his finger up his ***

At least in NC/FL we know how to drink beer

-Dave, who found it ironic that very few ppl drank at the expo.. lol
