Will different shift knob kick me out of stock class?
I've got a fake Type-R **** in a stock RS right now. Do I need to dig out the stocker for the autoX race in Colorado Springs next weekend? Also, what class is a stock 94 RS considered to be in? I am a rookie at this so sorry for all the stupid newbie quesitons.

Since they realligned the stock classes, I can't answer what class, but I can tell you that the shift **** thing falls under the "comfort and convienience" modification line. Just so it's only the **** part.

Okay your a newbie so don't worry about the shift **** but you should look into getting a SCCA rule book so you don't MOD your car into a higher class.

Here's the online version for quick reference.

The shift ***** fall under the 'comfort and convenience' items clause in the rules. Things like gauges, shift ***** (but not pedal covers! or short shifters!), seat covers, lights, etc, etc all fall under this category and are 'free'.
I believe the RS integra's are in G-Stock.

Damn, so your telling me that my pedal covers are going to bump me up into a higher class? I already hate those cheap things. I guess it's my fault for putting them on.

Yes. They facilitate hell-toe shifting, which can be perceived as an advantage. Locally you may not have a problem - thats between you and your competitors, and as a novice they wont likely care. If you are winning and gain experience, well they probably will care.

Yep, RS/LS/GSR's are in G Stock. But if you've changed the intake, that would bump you into D Street Prepared. You're only allowed to change the air filter itself in stock class. You must use the stock airbox, resonator, etc.
But as mentioned, talk to your fellow local competitors and they may let it slide since you're new.

Just join the fun in STS class and MOD the hell out of your car!! Intake, pedals, springs, shocks, shifters, rotors, pads and exhaust are all acceptable in STS. And you don't have to buy R compound tires to keep up with everyone else just run on your street tires.
Come on now run in STS with the cool people in SCCA!!!!!

If your car is a normally aspirated sedan (four seats, four factory seatbelts, not sports-car derived) of 3.1 Liters or less, or one of a few small turbocharged cars specified in the rules, and perhaps prepared further than allowed in Stock Category, it may be eligible for one of the Street Touring Classes. Street Touring - S is an SCCA National class, but Street Touring-X is an oprional Regional only class. Street Touring allows anything allowed in Stock, plus (roughly) these modifications:
Any shocks, struts, and springs, using original attachment points
Any sway bars
Any wheels up to 7.5" in width that fit over stock brakes
Tires up to and including a width of 225, with a treadwear rating of 140 or greater.
Strut bars/braces as allowed in Street Prepared.
Exhaust system downstream of catalytic converter(s)
Short throw shift kits
Spoilers, body kits, rear wings, etc.
Pedal kits and other interior cosmetic accessories
Alternate brakes pads and linings
Any fully padded and upholstered front seats with reclining seat backs
Removal of factory trim (rub strips, emblems)
Alternate steering wheels of any diameter, otherwise meeting Stock rules
Cross drilled and/or slotted brake rotors
Alternate air cleaner enclosures
No limited slip differentials except factory viscous coupler type units
Stock brake calipers/drums
Fenders may not be cut or flared (but specific modifications for tires OK)
Emission-legal headers
Emission legal modifications to Engine management system, either electronic or mehanical, but not both.
Engine and transmission must remain unmodified, including emissions equipment
