I switched from Mobil 1 syn to regular Castrol GTX. I noticed the valves ticking after the change. It has been 15K miles since I checked the valve clearance so I know that the motor was due for a adjustment. Did the regular oil just make it easier to notice the noise? Thanks for the help.

why would you go back to normal oil?

 

I highly doubt it was the oil. Most likely it just happen that you need a valve adjustment when you switched oil.
