the front or rear? The front you can't do it to and the rear you can but your need washers and longer bolts

The washer trick works on most hondas/acuras. And can only be used to correct the rear camber.

I did this on my 95 GSR and 97 EX on the rears.. you can't do it on the front.. anyway you just place washers between where the upper control arm bolts to the frame/body to "shim" it out a bit... I forget if their 1/2" or 3/4" washers but I went to home depot and got them for literally 7 cents each.. stood in line for like 20 minutes to pay less than a dollar haha.. if you choose to put a lot/stack the washers you should also get longer bolts..

It's the same way the dealerships use to correct for rear negative camber.

They put one washer on the driver-side and none on the passenger-side.

The only time you'll need to use longer bolts is if you have to add more than....say....5 or 6 washers. Plenty of threading to go around.

i did mine too, defintadly worth 48 cents, hehe. i used two washers which equaled out to be about a 1/4 inch, i stuck with the stock bolts but i i would have gone wih longer bolts if putting more on, my rear is lowered about 3 inches and amazingly that 1/4 inch from the washers almost totally straightened it out.

are you guys measureing the camber before "correcting" it? Why remove camber if it helps? That isn't to say there is no such thing as too much. 3" lower definitely needed some positive camber added in.

If your camber is less than -2 degrees I would not change anything.

Going to try this out this weekend because I wore out my rear tires due to camber, front tires are perfect with the camber kit.

camber isn't typically what wears tires. Toe is what usually wears tires. WHat were your toe settings in the rear?

1.5" isn't really enough of a drop to need camber correction. Typically 2+ inches starts to cause camber issues. THat isn't to say you won't have more than you want you just need to decide how much you want and measure it on an alignment rack.

just some info...

it's not your camber that's wearing your tires out so fast, it's your toe. Get an alignment and have them set your 'toe' to factory specs (which should be zero, i believe) and your tires should wear just fine.

then what is the purpose of camber kits other that auto-x'ers that want to dial in more negative camber? i was pretty sure that camber has something to do with tire wear

the lower you go the more negative camber you get (top of wheels angle in) To correct it you can but adjustable upper balljoints or the fullcamber kit. Its the inside of the tires that gets killed.

True but under -2 degrees (0 to -1.99) does not really wear tires if rotated properly. Toe out of spec will wear them bad.

Yep, he's right. With my H&R Sport springs and rear Koni shocks on the lowest perch setting (about 2" drop all around), I have -2.1/-2.4 deg. left/right camber in front, and about -1.4 deg. in back. I have no camber correction kits, but my toe-in was set correctly and I rotate my tires every 4K-5K miles. It's been 11K miles and my tires are still even all the way across. I did notice a couple of weeks ago that my front right tire had some slight scrub marks on the edges of the tread blocks, so I will have my friend throw it up on the rack at the Chevy dealer where he works and check my toe-in again for me, and adjust if needed.
