Default what is more durable, new cf trunk, or molded spoiler on oem trunk for e46

had a question, sorry if its off topic cause its for my e46. but it is a paint/body question.

i have a 2000 bmw e46 coupe (3series)

i want a csl trunk for it, but am concerned about the durability. what do you think is more durable/better fitment.

a whole csl (cf or fiberglass) replacement trunk

or just the csl add on (cf or fiberglass) molded to the oem trunk?

i am going to be paintmatching all the pieces, so its kind of a waste of cf, but is the cf more durable than fiberglass?

i also have some pretty loud subs, im concerned about the bass killing the trunk. what do you guys think would be the better route?

Sounds like you need to talk to the manufacturer of both of these products because sometimes C/F is laid over fiberglass so it seems either way you go, that's what you could be buying. Although C/F over fiberglass is much more durable that fiberglass alone.

In that case, carbon laid over fiberglass is definitely stronger than fiberglass by itself. The only problem with carbon fiber is that its a lot more high-maintenance on the cosmetic side. You have to take better care of it than a normal paint job or it will turn color and start to crack.

But if its a question of durability, go C/F.
