Default My '88 Integra Resto

SOME NEW PICS PAGE 3
BIG UPDATE PAGE 2
SMALL UPDATE SCROLL DOWN

My dad gave me my 1988 Integra Ls Special Edition for free. I was planning on selling it and purchasing an EG but after seeing the overwhelming amount of EG's in my area i chose to keep my Integra and build it. This is the first time I've really worked on car although most my friends do. I'm taking the chance to do this swap and do my Senior Project at the same time. My friend (peasoupe) who has done all kinds of swaps from a b20/vtec in a ITR to a rebuilt geo metro swap, is letting me use his garage and helping me along the way. Im planning on doing ls/vtec in June but for now im just throwing in a ls due to deadlines for school. We are using the Hasport mounts and axles. This summer i plan on adding Tokico blues, gold Rota Attacks, and some Recaro seats among other things.

When i got the car it was fairly clean although it could use a nice detail and some new parts; like a drives door handle and mirror, rear bumper and filler piece.

the engine looked clean for its age with everything around it other then the fact that it smoked like a diesel pick-up

We started the swap on Sunday after stripping the rear interior out due to mold damage and thoroughly cleaning the car. We only work on it a few hours a day because of track practice and nagging girlfriends. I'm planning on doing as much work as i can, with my friends experience helping me along the way.

On Sunday we got the old tired ZC out and discovered it was well over due for a new engine. The engine has had a blown head gasket for some time and was only running on 3 cylinders. Not to mention the 1/4-1/2 inch of sludge, mud, oil, grease, etc. caked on the motor and tranny. The radiator and intake mini were also full of, well, for lack of better words, crap.

later we went up and visted some crazy russian guy in Everett off Craigslist and got some mirrors and trunk struts after we got past the language barrier.

it was dark and we were tired so heres some pics from the next day

then it was off to napa to order some new spark plugs, radiator, exhaust manifold gasket, water pump, alternator, and we went to Honda to pick up a air freshener and a rear mount from a 2000 Civic Si.

today we didnt really have much to do because we are waiting for a tranny from a friend. So we stripped the paint off the Ls valve cover and took it to the car wash along with my daily driver to blast the old paint off.
My daily donk with a typical car of the neighborhood in the background.

bye bye ugly silver

got back to the garage and were board and was such a nice day we called over another friend (JDM206) and did some misc. stuff like the timing and changed the water pump.

thats about it for now ill keep you guys posted on the progress.

Just lower that 4x4 and get 'er running and she'll be mint - looks to be in great shape - especially for the year.

Good job so far. I'm in for updates.

Had a rough night last night so we got a late, groggy, start on working on the car. High School Seniors

We didn't really do much today except take some pics and put on the new mirrors. Then we got a b16 tranny, so we can finally put the damn motor in.

i got the non-power mirrors because they look better imo and power mirrors are about 80 bucks. i cut off the adjuster and used the stock power mirror block off plate on the inside to keep the clean look, and so it looks like there still power So I'm just gunna have to roll down the windows to adjust them lol

old mirror

new vs. old mirrors

Inventory

and my friend is selling these. Pm him for details (peasoupe)

Should have some updates in the next couple days of putting the motor in and the the first start up.
