Looking for options for Painting my 2000 Civic Cx
I want my car to be as clean as possible.
I dont have allot of cash.
I dont want to be cheap.
Earl sheib Crap?
Should I stay stock color Silver Vouge Metallic, or would other colors be more affordable.
I was really thinking about going another color because Silver seems to fade and rust quicker.
I'm in the San Diego Area.
Heres some pics of the fading paint. In general the Paint is in Ok shape except on the drivers side mostly.
Drivers side roof.

Drivers side door.

Fender.

Overall Paint.

Tell me what you think.
Thanx in advance.

I've never heard of silver paint rusting faster. But I'd stay away from earl scheib and maaco paint jobs. Changing color will cost you more unless you don't paint your jambs and bay. If you know anyone that could help you, you could save a majority of the cost if you do the body work and prep yourself. If you're not comfortable prepping it I'd leave it to whoever is painting so you don't ruin anything. and shop around! Whoever you take it to, look at previous work they've done or ask to check out the shop. Good luck.
if you want to save BIG money and do more PER DOLLAR go to barnes and nobles and pick up a book in the automotive section that teaches you how to paint on a budget. do ALOT of reading and do EVERYTHING yourself...you can make your own paint booth. buy your tools and what not from harbor freight, use HIGH QUALITY PAINT! dupont PPG etc...dont cheap out on paint PLEASE, and you will be alright. you can even make a business out of it! $$$$$$$

SOUNDS FUN!!
I will probably be moving into and apartment with a huge garage, so I just may make my own paint booth. I've heard of harbor freight before, and I will have to check em out. I will go get a book also.
Have a Great Day!
