Looks like it would roll pretty well. Sick setup.

Can you pm me pics of where you mounted your harnesses? I just need to get an idea of where to put mine.

please do not mount your harnesses like he did...it is extremely unsafe...harnesses should only be mounted to a roll bar with a harness bar at the correct height...mounting harnesses to the floor like that will create spinal compression during a crash and kill you...buy a autopower 4-pt and call it a day

there are numerous threads that discusses the safety of way ppl mount their harnesses.... but there are no real evidence that proves or disproves that one is "safer" than the other.

but the more legit way of doing it is with a roll cage. But there are tons of other drivers that mounted the exact same way as the OP did.. and nothing has happened in an accident either...

so its really up to the owner to mount the way he/she feels is sufficient.

yep...really. It is a pretty common mistake...also you dont want to have fixed-back buckets without having a rollbar(reason being that your head will be fixed in position to be crushed by the roof should you roll over-whereas the stock seats+3pt belts will let your body move downward towards the middle of the car)....nice car just go spend some $$ on a proper roll bar

I'm going to buy a roll bar... but the long harnesses can still be attached to the floor. According to Crow Enterprises, they are 100% safe that way. The roll bar just keeps them from getting that angle greater than 10 degrees. Id still like to see where they're mounted.

And if they should only be mounted to the roll bar, then why do all the companies sell the roll bar length and then the clip-ins or bolt downs in the long length?

There is plenty of evidence showing that mounting your harnesses incorrectly can result in injury or death(maybe not on honda-tech, but there is a reason why racing sanctioning bodies have very specific rules for how harnesses should be mounted)

There is a proper way to do something and a half-assed way to do something.....every real racing association body requires that harnesses be mounted at a specific angle at a specific point behind the seat harness holes. Also, as i mentioned below your post, in the event of a rollover using fixed back seats and no roll protection, your body will not be able to have the lateral movement allowed with stock 3-pt belts and seats, and you could be crushed. The guy above was asking for advice on how to correctly mount his harnesses and I was letting him know.

100% correct, as long as you use good hardwear and the harnesses pass over the bar it works just the same as mounting them too the bar. try using specfic mounting hardwear from safedrives or summit, theres lots of info out there.good to see your doing it right

i didn't mean to say they should always be mounted to the bar, but rather that a bar is a necessary component in mounting correctly

not trying to hijack the thread..
but i totally agree with you. roll cage is the proper way of doing it.

Im just stating from the "takata threads" thats on here that ive read.. ppl that got into accidents, some pretty bad ones are still alive with no real injuries. no spinal compressions either..

Im not saying that the current setup that he has is the safest.. but it will do for the time being.

Its like saying... Dont drive 100 mph. Its unsafe and ppl can die from it. But do ppl listen? no? and when ppl DO drive 100+mph and does it in some what of a LESS RECKLESS manner. Do ppl come out completely unharmed?? YES...

Same goes with him mounting his setup... smartest? probably not.. will it work... Yes..
