The problem isn't the suspension, but rather the driver.

your problem is your plug wires ..... 9.3mm wont do, you'll need 10mm, 4 of them , and your gonna need them by tonight.

nick, who wants out of the honda thing because 7 out of 10 drivers of them are ******* morons.

It is one of the best handling FWD cars.. in the hands of a capable driver. When the *** end starts to give hitting the brakes is the absolute worse thing you could possibly do (well ok, I guess just pulling up the ebrake is worse in a way, less control after the spin). Go to a HPDS or atleast an autox are start to SAFELY experiment with the limits of the car. Don't bother changing the suspension until you do so.. oh and those H&R springs could in reality make it handle worse than stock.

Actually I found that if you step the wires you do better. #1 = 10mm, #2 = 9.3mm #3 = 8.5mm and #4 = 7mm.

Works wonders!

And I think his problem is really the short shifter. It gave him mad shifting skillz y0!

-Dave, who agrees with the 7/10 "rule" and also wants out of hondas.. soooon!!

Totally agree with Dave,
IMHO, the best street suspension is the one that comes stock with the R, period.

Haha... What are you complaining about? You have just experienced oversteer, which is exactly what we want with a FWD car (not too much of course). Next time brake on the straight and don't lift throttle too much while turning!!!!

of course they do, it just seems like it's a higher percentage with hondas.. I'd actually say more than 7/10 but didn't want to be an ***.. and I'm not talking about "bad drivers" I'm talking about idiotic drivers who simply can't drive but think they can outdrive every professional driver in the world.

Funny how the springs got upgraded, or downgraded, or whatever, or just lowered oh geez, what is the world coming to?

WTF are you taking corners at 100 MPH for on the freeway anyway's? Especially if you don't know how to drive it that way or how it will handle at a limit like that And On An OPEN HIGHWAY?!!

Elitest and ****? No, Just Truthful... And Slow the F*ck Down... Let's try not to lose another ITR and OR HT member. Be glad you didn't end up hitting something or spinning out of control. The car did Exactly what it does, and probably handled well. I experienced the same feeling of fear awhile ago when I first began driving my first R. I have since learned a bunch of valuable lessons, and am still learning Every Day how to drive and control the car well.

A.

PS take it to a track or auto-x to learn control and how to use the R to it's limits NOT on the Open Roads!

This is a really stupid questions but now that the topic is out....What exactly is the differece between oversteer and understeer with the type R. I did the same sort of thing but not quite as fast and found the same problem. Now, I dont want to put springs in my car because there are too many problems that occur. For example, clearance, wheel well room when turning the wheel hard, ride comfort, and also dont have teh money to pay for struts and a camber kit which is definately needed with springs. My question is...Will adding a strut bar in the trunk improve the handing a decent amount. Who makes good bars that make a noticeable amount of difference in handing. I hear mugen makes a good one. Anyone that has purchased one please let me know how it worked. THanks!

OMG...putting a strut bar in the trunk will only stiffen the rear even more and make the R swap ends ever faster

No need to bust his *****, he doesn't know and the only way to find out is to ask.

Again,
"IMHO, the best street suspension is the one that comes stock with the R, period. "

And you don't need a rear strut bar. The stiffness of the R's body is more than enough for handleing in street situations, unless, you're really into Auto-X, Road and Circuit racing.

This is a really stupid questions but now that the topic is out....What exactly is the differece between oversteer and understeer with the type R.
Understeer = The vehicle not turning enough. Front end "plows" forward. Turning the wheel further only makes this condition worse, striaghten the wheel a bit and feather the throttle to slow the car controllably if you have open road availble.

oversteer: The vehicle turning too much. The back end of the car tried to become the front end of the car. apply more throttle and if needed smoothly countersteer. This will take practice to not overcorrect.

Always be smooth with inputs, otherwise you can quickly turn a controllable slide/skid until a very fast and violent spin.

camber kit which is definately needed with springs.
Toe will kill your tires long before camber will. Camber is blamed for far too many problems.

My question is...Will adding a strut bar in the trunk improve the handing a decent amount.
well I didn't notice a difference with a rear strut bar in my car, but I also had a roll cage installed soooo.... if there is a difference it'll make the rear end more stiff which may not have the effect you are looking for..

suspension mod. will not give u too much grip, it is tires

that gives u major grips. Especially with lowering spring u can

always reveive miminum resualt.

i know tires are tear&wear item, but dont even try to save

any money on these things~!!!

Some ppl just need to learn how to drive BEFORE they learn how to "improve" their car

No, it's the driver. He did what he should not have done. It's that simple.

Price doesn't matter, it just has to be JDM. JDM parts are the ONLY good parts for these cars!
