Whats my car worth???
Hey guys. Ive had my car since Oct 06 and i think the time has come for me to sell it. The car has been giving me problems off and on with overheating. Ive changed the radiator and all associated hoses but it still wants to overheat and has been getting progressively worse. Turns out it needs a new headgasket.
So, i was thinking about selling her and using the money toward a downpayment on a newer car. The thing is that i really dont know how much to ask when selling it. Its a 1995 LS, paint job is about a year old, shaved wing, lowered on i believe eibach sportlines, sitting on 15in bronze slips, Greddy header, clean tan cloth interior, newer stereo and speakers. Its got 141k on the clock. As of right now the car actually runs really strong but continues to leak coolant/water so long trips are not really plausible. Im in socal. I checked autotrader and found that cars similar to mine are going for around 4000 in running shape. My car is clean but obviously needs some engine work. So... how much should i ask for it???????

You're not going to get much for that car.

coolant problems are a bitch. i wouldnt expect more than 2500 MAX for the car with the problem. miles are getting high.
also: what kind of maintenince records do you have? timing belt? condition of tires? brakes?
and is the oil milky?
(edit)
hmm i missed that part about the headgasket first time around. thats a bit of dough right there.

i'd recommend just replacing the headgasket, and trying to fix whatever problems you can, over here, your car would go for around 4.5-5 if it was running good, compared to 2500, fixing it doesnt sound so bad
