whats your highest speed on your stock ls dc4...i hit 115 yesterday with only running headers,catback,and a short ram...is that hurting my engine or is it okay to run like that?

 

Well first off someone is gonna tell u that u should be driving that fast, second ur car can go that fast without ur baby mods, and no that is not hurting ur car just putting people and ur self in danger.

 

I'll ask a simple question. What is your tire pressure?

 

yes, ive gone 115-120 with just intake-exhaust. no its not good for your engine, make sure your tire are good, like the dog said. at least make sure theyre speed rated.

120 was on a bit of a downhill, but in conneticuit, there are no straight, flat roads, so ive never truely maxed my ls out.


and if your gonna go that fast, at least wear your seatbelt.

 

As someone said, you can go that fast with a stock engine. In fact, you can go that fast with a 80 h.p. Civic CX engine. So it's nothing to brag about

Besides, arent our cars electronically limited to only 115-120?

no i dont think they are ive taken mine 134 stock . thats the reason why my engine is messed up never doing that again car wobbles at that speed and i learned my lesson

yes..120mph

i could not go past that unless on downhill. then i slowed back to 120

[edit] my obd2 automatic ls atleast

 

it was a lil slope i bombed it then i smashed on it some more and the flat part i hit 134 then slowed down due to bumpy road

 

i went 140ish give or take 3mph lol i didnt look at the speedo that much at that speed... but my car has better than stock suspension, evn with that it got real tense-car wobbled left and right...
bottom line is i wont do it again

i hit 140 on the speedo. dont know how acurate these speedos are but car felt like it wanted to go faster

I see you have a DA... how bad was the crash?

 

ha.. call me a @ss but I hit 115 120 almost everytime i take my teg out.. ive driven my em1 to 140+ w/ basic bolt ons.. if your car has the proper tires and you know your roads its no big deal.. but anytime your driving that fast it's always dangerous..

 

i've taken my stock b18a1 motor in my da to 140 and my friend hit 135. and no there was no wobbles, and no problems afterwards. Other than that, i've hit 120-130 more than a couple times and no problems, call me a dumbass whatever, but everytime me and my friend w/ his rsx type S go somewhere, the freeway is the only time i have a chance lol

 

i have 205-40-17 tires...38 to 40 tire pressure

 

ive had the speedo on my DA pegged out, it took about 5 seconds of deceleration to come back down from 140. I wont do it again, and the messege is also, that DA's kick *** on top end lol.

 

Fastest I've taken mine personally was 135, but decided to slow down just for personaly safety.
