Recently bought a 97 EK hatch from some jackass that didnt know what he was selling...its got an lsvtec conversion under the hood and he sold the car to me for 2700 haha the b18 is just about that much by itself!!!!

Anyways the jackass put RED NAIL POLISH on the gauge cluster covering all the digits to make it look like the JDM style cluster...instead of replacing the essembly im just getting a face plate.

can someone help me out with how to remove the dash to get to the needles them selves? i need to pop em off and the put the face plate on. and is it as easy as "popping the needles off" or is it a little more tricky?

For installing the gauge faces, you don't need to remove the needles and I highly advise not to.
